John Abraham, official face of Mumbai Marathon

With a view to give back something for the needy people, film stars and models will represent different NGOs during the Standard Chartered Mumbai International Marathon to be held here on February 15.

With Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’s release just round the corner, fitness freak John Abraham has become the ambassador for the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2008. Moreover, he will also be donning the hat of brand ambassador for the top football league in England, the English Premier League.

John, feeling delighted to be the Brand Ambassador of such an esteemed event said that for him it’s a responsibility which he is really looking forward to. Besides that, anything connected with sports, health and fitness excites him. Since, the Marathon is scheduled to be held on January 20, 2008, it goes without saying that he would be the participating in it. However, he is yet to decide upon which cause he would be supporting unless he meets the organizers involved.

John will soon be meeting Bhaichand Bhutia in person and the entire football team will be shown Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal in a special screening.

Film star Rahul Bose, who is running for the Spastics Society of India, said “I am running just for fun and I think we should appreciate the efforts put in by various NGOs to take this opportunity to raise funds to help the cause of the needy people”.

Another prominent Hindi film star Jackie Shroff and his son Tiger along with Moshe Shek, Pratichee Mohapatra, model John Abraham and Mandira Bedi are running for National Association for the Blind, an organisation that serves the cause of the visually challenged.

Models Dino Morea, Farhan Akhtar and Tanisha Mukherji are running for ‘Dream A Dream’, an NGO based in Bangalore that works with vulnerable children, including those with HIV, on their overall personal development and growth.
